Community Lunches and Collective Worship led by pupils

We are situated in a small rural farming community where school is an essential part of the community for our children and their families. It is very important for the school to maintain and develop links in the community so that we can support each other. In a catchment area where we don't have a village, local shop, pub or central amenities our school is a focal point for bringing people together.

Community Lunches

Our popular Community Lunches are on Tuesdays and are advertised each half term.
Places are limited and available on a first come first served basis, so please book early to avoid disappointment!

Come and enjoy a tasty, nutritious meal cooked freshly in school; served at 12 o’clock. Enjoy a main meal and desert, followed by tea or coffee for just £5.50. All meals are served with a selection of fresh salad and raw, cut vegetables. Fresh bread, fresh fruit, yogurts and water are also available.

To book simply contact school 01228 577264 or email office@shankhill.cumbria.sch.uk  by 12 noon on the Friday of the week before.

We will publish Community Lunch dates each term via email, SWAY and Facebook!

Pupil led Collective Worship

Our pupil led Collective Worship sometimes follows our Community Lunches on Tuesdays from 1:00 to 1:30, and we encourage our community to stay a bit longer after lunch, to listen to our pupil led Collective Worship.
