Our Classes

We continue to maintain the structure of three individual classes during mornings. Each class is small enough to provide individual, personalised learning but large enough to provide stimulating social interactions and a whole lot of fun too!

Our ideal class sizes are a luxury that most schools and families can only imagine.

Class 1 - Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2
Main Teachers - Miss Metcalfe (Mon, Tues & Wed), Mrs Strong (Thur, Fri)

Senior Teaching Assistants - Mrs Elwen

Teaching Assistant - 

Class 2 - Year 2 (English) with Year 3 and Year 4
Main Teachers - Mrs Batey

Class 3 - Year 5 and Year 6
Main Teacher - Mr Neil

Senior Teaching Assistant - Mrs Hickman

Volunteer STA - Mrs McBride (Tuesdays)

During afternoon lessons, we join together as two teaching classes:

Volunteers

We are exceptionally blessed by the thoughtful, kind and highly talented volunteer parents, ex-staff, friends and governors of Shankhill who support learning in school. They come in to help with 1:1 reading and learning support, go on trips and support a range of experiential learning events.
